[Propertalk] A nurse whose work predates Florence Nightingale

A nurse whose work predates Florence Nightingale is buried in the cemetery of St. John's Church in the Kane family mosuleum in Elizabeth, New Jersey, near the Newark International Airport. Her story is told in the Liberty Museum in Elizabeth across the street from Kane University in Union, New Jersey. She was from a relatively wealthy family, and during the Civil War she and other women from New Jersey and elsewhere attended to the wounded from both sides of the war, in among other places, barges on the MIssissippi River.
