The significance of Jesus' entry into Jerusalem from the east from the Mount
of Olives and Bethphage on Palm Sunday:

-based on Ezekiel 10, 43, 43ff, and Zechariah 9:9.

Due to people's sin the shekinah left the temple and traveled to the east,
Ezekiel intones, and he expects it to be rebuilt and reconsecrated.

Jesus is the one who is the shekinah of God who comes from the east to
rebuild the Temple, not as a building, but as a faith in him.
