“Baptism: does it make a real difference?”

Jesus urges John the Baptist to ‘get on with it’, to announce the physical inbreaking of God into our world by the presence of his Son Jesus. Baptism indeed always announces that God is ultimately in control of all things, all events in heaven and on earth, and God’s will shall always prevail in the end. Our own baptisms have set us on a new course to bring in the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven.
