Well, it didn't like my attempt.
Here's a reduced part 2!

Love – and today we’re called to think forward to Maundy
Thursday and Good Friday, the climaxes of Lent five weeks away –
Love means putting the other at the centre of life, whether it’s a
single human being, or a group of human beings, or all human beings
– or whether it’s God whom we see in that human being, or group:
Love, no matter what the cost, is recognizing the needs of the other
and, at the same time, discovering that we have the ability and
opportunity to live that selfless love in so many ways.

The final verse of the Gospel is one that sticks with me. It’s so
familiar, yet either we forget it or we try to fudge. “Where your
treasure is,” where you put your emphasis in your heart, THAT’S
where you’re going to live, that’s what’s going to motivate and
drive you.

So, receiving the Ashes on our foreheads is a way of accepting all
of life, and saying that we wish to transform it.

Jan Richardson writes so well on spiritual matters. This is what she
offers for this day.
