Collect for Proper 27

Let us pray:

Lord God,
you are the oil of our gladness,
oil in our lamps,
burning bright for all to see,
and see by.
Whether we are foolish or wise,
you urge us to stay awake,
ready to join the feast
through Jesus Christ our Lord, 
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, 
one God for ever and ever. Amen
