[Propertalk] Sunday Collect

Recent discussion on the HoB/D listserve has noted that clergy/churches are to use BCP rubrics (with update to RCL) only unless Diocesan has given approval for other texts. My experience has been bishops consider this on a "case by case" basis, not a blanket approval.

Subject: Re: [Propertalk] Sunday Collect

I haven't checked elsewhere, but A New Zealand Prayer Book contains three short paragraph collects for each Sunday, and one could choose whichever one felt matched the propers best. Usually only one of them has a doxological ending, so the supposition may be that the whole could be said as one. However, one could put an ascription of praise at the end of reach segment if one wished.

Thanks, Bob

The result is that the collect, although appropriately seasonal, seldom make direct reference to the Gospel of the day. Do any other worship books of other denominations have this same issue?
