THE FOLLOWING are links to materials for the FIRST READING.
NO PASSWORD REQUIREMENT: We are posting these materials on the web with no password.
To access those files, you MUST use the following links.
IF CLICKING ON THE LINK FAILS TO WORK, copy the link and paste it in the address window near the top of your browser.
Then hit the ENTER key or click GO.
ISAIAH 65:17-25 -- Revised Common Lectionary, Track 1
(Methodists, Presbyterians, UCC, some Episcopalians, and others)
These materials include the exegesis + a link to two sermons + a hymn list:
Microsoft Word file:

HTML file (web page):

WordPerfect file:

MALACHI 4:1-2a -- Revised Common Lectionary, Track 2
(Anglicans, Lutherans, Catholics, and some Episcopalians)
CATHOLICS, please note: Your First Reading is listed as Malachi 3:19-20, BUT it is the same as this text. That is because there are two systems for numbering the three verses following Malachi 3:18.
These materials include the exegesis + a hymn list:
Microsoft Word file:

HTML file (web page):

THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN TRACKS 1 and 2:
TRACK 1 is a "semi-continuous" track (it will have a series of readings from one book and then a series from another book). It is used by most Methodists, Presbyterians, UCC, Disciples of Christ, some Episcopalians, and others.
TRACK 2 is a "paired" track (it tries to pair the Gospel reading with a First reading with a similar theme). It is used by most Anglicans, Lutherans, Catholics, and some Episcopalians.
A TIP: If you want the Word or WordPerfect files, LEFT-CLICK on the link and see what happens. That should bring up a dialog box that asks if you want to open the file or save it. Choose OPEN. Then save it wherever you like on your hard drive.
If that doesn't work, RIGHT-CLICK on the link. You should get a sub-menu. Hopefully, "Save Target As" will be one of the options. Click on that. Then save the file wherever you want on your hard drive.
