There is an exhortation in the 1979 book on page 316, as part of the 
Rite I penitential order.
It is a conflation of the three exhortations (one of them quite 
daunting, as Bob says) which,
with some wording changes were in all BCPs up to 1979.  In 1928 BCP one 
of them was
required to be read on Advent I, Lent I, and Trinity Sunday.  Now its 
use is optional.
