The prayer books leading up to the current (1979) one contain exhortations - there can be one right at the start of the Communion liturgy, exhorting people to come to penitence; there are also ones, of fair ferocity, which warn the congregation that Communion is to be celebrated the following Sunday and you'd better get your "house" in order before considering receiving.

Looking at this site, you can bring up some of the older books and check then out. The principle exhortations usually come after the offertopry sentences.

I hope this helps.
